For retreat centers and eco-lodges

Retreat website design where guests pick dates and rooms on your own pages.

Guests pick their dates and room on your site, and nobody has to email you and wait for a reply. We connect it to the system that holds your rooms and programs, and find out first how much of the booking it lets us build.

The usual trouble

Three things retreat owners say about the marketplaces.

Every booking from a marketplace costs a cut.

BookRetreats charges a commission on the full retreat price, set by the visibility rate you choose. Its own example uses 15%, plus a 3% payment fee. The cut also covers extras booked later, like extra nights or meals.1 Retreat Guru’s marketplace takes 14% of the total price.2

They take the deposit. You collect the rest.

On BookRetreats the deposit is paid on their site, and you charge the rest yourself, on arrival or before.1 Retreat Guru says the same: collecting the rest of the price is up to you.2

Stays on Booking.com or Airbnb cost a cut too.

Booking.com charges its commission on the whole booking, including fees you add like cleaning fees. Non-refundable bookings are charged whether or not the guest stayed.3 Airbnb is moving hosts to a single service fee of 15.5%, based on its global average.4

What we do

Your dates, rooms and programs on your site.

The site sits over the system you already run your retreats in and talks to it through its API. Guests see your dates, rooms and programs on your pages. How much of the booking and the payment happens there depends on that system, and we check it with you first. The system behind it keeps working as it does today.

  • Retreat dates, room types and programs get pages made for your retreat. You decide the steps and the words.
  • Cloudbeds: rates and availability come live, and the reservation is created in your Cloudbeds. Its booking API does not process payments, so how guests pay depends on your setup.5
  • Retreat Guru: programs and room availability can be read live, and registrations can be created in it. The guest can pay on your own page, through your own Stripe account, and your site then records the payment on the registration as a transaction.6,7
  • Mews: rooms and availability come live, and reservations are created in your Mews. Mews labels this API a Beta version.8 The guest pays on a Mews payment page and comes back to your site.9
  • Checkfront: a reservation made through its API lands in your Checkfront. How guests pay through the API is something we confirm for your account.10
  • Every registration still ends up in your own system.

A few more questions

Does my booking system keep running?

Yes. Your calendar, guest records and account stay where they are. We replace the website in front of them, not the system behind it.

Do I have to leave BookRetreats, Retreat Guru or Booking.com?

No. Keep a listing if it fills rooms for you. The site is one more way in: guests who find you through search, social media or a friend can book on your own domain. Before you set prices there, read each platform’s terms. Retreat Guru’s host policy says an item on its marketplace may not be listed for a lower price elsewhere.2 Want a year of platform fees set against your own site? Use the booking fee calculator.

What if my booking system can’t do all of it?

Some systems let us build the whole booking on your page. Others hand the guest to their own page for the last step. Which one you have depends on your system and your account, and we find out on the call, before you decide. Where a step stays on the system’s page, we design the pages around it and bring the guest back to your site. Running classes on Momence? See websites for Momence.

What does it cost, and how long does it take?

Most of the price depends on results. A first part books your start date, a second part is due when the site goes live, and the third part comes 90 days later, in full only if your website booked more than in the same 90 days last year. We go through the numbers on the call. A retreat site is live within thirty business days. We set up the link to your system first. If it has to approve the link, the thirty days start at that approval.

Can I see it first?

Yes. Before you pay anything, we design your retreat homepage and walk you through it on a call. Then you decide.

Where the facts about other companies come from

Every fact about another company on this page was read on that company’s own pages on 2 November 2026. Companies change their pages, so check before you decide.

How we build, what it costs and our results are ours, not theirs.
